Crytek has released a new trailer for Chapter 2 of Blood Testament, the ongoing in-game event in Hunt: Showdown 1896. The studio published the reveal on September 29, 2026 through a Steam Community announcement titled “Chapter 2 Trailer | Blood Testament | Hunt: Showdown 1896.” The announcement confirms that Blood Testament Chapter 2 continues on October 6, 2026. Crytek closes the post with a short countdown, noting that one week remains. The post went up on the game’s Steam news hub, where Crytek shares official Hunt: Showdown 1896 updates.
What Chapter 2 brings
The announcement frames the update with the line that the nights are growing longer, and that Chapter 2 brings new horrors to the bayou and the mountains. Crytek lists the additions in the chapter. They are sweeping compound changes and a new DLC, a new story challenge and a new community event, and two new tarot cards along with a new tool. Twitch Drops are also part of the update. The list ends with a teaser for familiar faces and new nightmares. Beyond that, Crytek only says there is plenty more waiting in the shadows.
Blood Testament context and Bloodskin
Blood Testament launched on September 8, 2026 alongside Update 2.9. Since then Crytek has been expanding the event’s story, including the recent reveal of the backstory of Bloodskin, one of the new monsters introduced during the event. The Chapter 2 reveal follows that rollout and arrives just under a month after the event began. The new trailer is the first full look at the chapter.
Developer livestream on October 1
A separate companion announcement was published the same day, titled “Blood Testament | Chapter 2 | Livestream | Oct 1st – 6 PM CEST.” Crytek has scheduled the next developer livestream for October 1st at 6 PM CEST, five days before the chapter begins. The stream will cover everything coming in Chapter 2 of Blood Testament and what lies ahead in what Crytek describes as a dark and tragic tale. Its tagline reads, “The blood has been spilled, but the testament is not yet complete.” Viewers can watch the stream live on Twitch, YouTube, Steam, and more.
