Today Ubisoft’s Just Dance Now has released for compatible Android and iOS smart phones. The app turns your phone into a motion sensor, which you can then sync up to the Just Dance Now website in order to competitively dance away to your favourite songs along with friends anywhere you have an internet-connected screen.
This new connectivity model opens the game up to many different markets where gaming consoles are not are prevalent. It is a very interesting idea on Ubisoft’s part, taking their popular console franchise and allowing you to take your game anywhere you please (seeing as it’s near impossible to not find an internet-connected screen), though we see the potential for a lot of phones flying out of people’s hands as they boogie to ‘Bille Jean.’
The game is toted as free-to-play, however that only allows users to access five of the fifty-plus songs available. Instead, if you want to be able to access all the songs, you need to sign up for a subscription plan, the details of which are outlined below:
Upon downloading the app, players can instantly access five songs which rotate daily. The five free songs available at launch include “Applause” by Lady Gaga, “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell Williams, “Y.M.C.A.” by Village People and more. To access the full catalogue of tracks, players can select from a variety of options to suit their needs:
