Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one ambitious project that has been gaining popularity quite rapidly. So rapidly in fact, that the Warhorse developed game has reached 3 times its initial kickstarter milestone of 300.000 quid, reaching over 900.000 so far, with 47 hours remaining. In the wake of such a positive response from the press and backers, Warhorse has decided to bring Kingdom Come: Deliverance to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One too, in addition to the originally planned PC version. While initially this wasn’t planned, the developer was confident in its ability to program the game for next-gen consoles. They lacked the funds and the support from Microsoft and Sony though.

Now that the question of funding was clearly out of the way, the above mentioned support quickly followed. Both Microsoft and Sony have shown interest in the ambitious project of the Czech development team, so much so that they have even offered development kits to help things along. Initially planned for a digital-only release, the developer can now consider physical versions of the game as well. “We shall see about the physical/retail publishing. We maybe able to do it ourselves, or we may make a deal with another company to do it. This remains to be seen.” said representatives of Warhorse.

Due to the huge success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance on kickstarter, Warhorse managed to achieve multiple milestones, adding a Tournament mode to the medieval realistic RPG. One lass milestone remains, one that requires £1,000,000 in backing. If the project reaches this milestone (it will be a close on, with less than two days to go and 10% to raise, it’s unclear where the funding will stop), Warhorse will introduce dog companions to Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The dog will follow your character loyally, assist in combat, participate in hunting and warn you of any threats to your well-being while sleeping.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance aims for a late 2015 release, which seems reasonable, given how much work Warhorse has ahead of itself. There will be a beta-phase though (guaranteed for big enough backers), one that is planned for fall 2015. The game uses CryEngine and definitely looks worthy enough to be called next-gen, and to be featured on the Playstation 4 or Xbox One.
