Marvel Cosmic Invasion is getting its second DLC, The Siege of Castle Doom, on November 10, and it is the game’s biggest content drop yet. Tribute Games’ October 26 PlayStation Blog post detailed two new playable heroes, the Invisible Woman and Doctor Doom, and a run-based Siege mode set inside Castle Doomstadt that rebuilds the beat-’em-up loop around competing gauges, perks, and branching doors.
What the second DLC adds
The Siege of Castle Doom makes Doctor Doom and the Invisible Woman playable for the first time, pushing the roster to 17 heroes once you add the base game’s 15 and the two from the first DLC, Cyclops & The Thing. The bigger addition is a new mode built around the clash between Reed Richards, who guides players through voice-over, and Doctor Doom, who mocks every attempt to invade Doomstadt.
The additions also keep assembling the Fantastic Four’s core cast. The Thing arrived in the first DLC, and the Invisible Woman now joins him alongside Reed Richards as the mode’s narrator. Doctor Doom, the team’s defining adversary, becomes playable in the same update that turns his castle into the battlefield.
Two gauges, one tug of war
Two meters decide each run. Doctor Doom’s Cosmic Inductor charges with energy and grants him massive power when it fills. A separate Siege Gauge climbs every time the heroes get taken down inside the castle. Each victory drops batteries that charge the Stabilizer and stall Doom’s progress. Press forward to collect batteries, or watch Doom’s gauges fill while you hold back.
Nothing in the base campaign applies this pressure. It plays as a linear beat-’em-up across New York and the Negative Zone. The Siege mode turns the same combat into a run with consequences, closer to a roguelike than an arcade level. Tribute Games says the mode holds more than five times the encounters of the main game, and that count does not include the new events, traps, and hazards layered on top.
In the base campaign, finishing a stage moves you forward and the only thing you keep is progress on the map. In the Siege mode, every run feeds a meta-layer, so even a failed attempt leaves you with something for the next one. The trade-off is rushing for batteries versus avoiding the knockdowns that charge Doom.
Doom charges his Cosmic Inductor to make himself “Earth’s Champion,” and Tribute Games writes in the PlayStation Blog post that players should keep the Siege Gauge low while banking enough batteries for Stabilizers, which let Reed Richards raise the heroes’ efficiency through Perks. A team that keeps getting knocked down powers the boss it is trying to reach, so trading hits to clear a screen now backfires.
Branching doors and perks
Each run forces a choice at themed doors that steer the build:
- Equipment arms heroes with force fields or energy blasts.
- Events drops players into an arena where the rules change on the spot, granting bonuses or penalties depending on the outcome.
- Heal restores health.
- Infinite grants unlimited ammo or focus.
- Progression awards a random batch of batteries for Reed’s Stabilizer Gauge.
Above the doors sits a Perks system split into Offense, Defense, and Tactical branches. Perks apply to individual heroes, so building a squad is partly about combining strengths across the team. In multiplayer, an MVP system tracks the most effective players and surfaces their stats at the end of a run.
The castle fights back
The halls of Castle Doomstadt are lined with medieval torture devices, blizzards freeze the Castle Battlements, and the Tower of Solitude hides treacherous elevator platforms where Doom develops his experiments. A fall or a freeze is another knockdown, and every knockdown feeds the Siege Gauge. Completing runs feeds Reed Richards’ Lab, which unlocks new equipment, events, and modifiers for later attempts. Finishing a run also unlocks a new color palette for whichever hero you used.
Where it fits
Marvel Cosmic Invasion launched December 1, 2025, at $29.99 as a 15-hero beat-’em-up from Tribute Games, published by Dotemu and Gamirror Games. Heroes battle the Annihilation Wave across New York City and into the Negative Zone. The first DLC, Cyclops & The Thing, arrived May 18, 2026, at $3.99 and added two heroes with little else. The Siege of Castle Doom adds two characters plus a mode with its own progression systems, unlockables, and a reason to replay.
The second DLC also lands alongside other Marvel releases such as Marvel’s Wolverine, which revealed new gameplay and opened pre-orders during June’s State of Play.
Release date, platforms, and price
The Siege of Castle Doom releases November 10 across the platforms Marvel Cosmic Invasion already supports: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, where the DLC is listed as coming soon. Pricing has not been announced. For reference, the first DLC launched at $3.99 and the base game sells for $29.99, though Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu have not confirmed whether the second DLC will match that $3.99 price.
