Mega Man Battle Network 3 joining Wii U eshop?

Battle Network

Nintendo has certainly been busy in the past few weeks filling up the Wii U eshop with plenty of Game Boy Advance titles. The latest swirling rumor is that Mega Man Battle Network 3 will be joining the library soon. While this has yet to be officially confirmed, the Australian Classification Board rated the game on April 24th, and Nintendo is listed as the publisher rather than Capcom, which is a good indication that Battle Network 3 is on its way. Battle Network 3 was the first game in the series to have two different versions of the same game. There’s Battle Network 3 Blue, and Battle Network 3 White. These two titles complement each other and provide the same basic gameplay experience, with only some minor difference thrown in here and there. So the good news is you don’t have to buy both games, unless of course you want everything that Battle Network 3 has to offer. You won’t be missing out on anything huge by only having one or the other.

The only thing that strikes me odd is that Nintendo would put the 3rd game out before the 1st. Of course, Battle Network isn’t huge on story and each game can be played individually without causing any confusion, I just find it odd that the first two games of the series has been overlooked, especially considering the first title would have been a great way to introduce the Battle Network universe and could show how the series grew and evolved over time.

Are you excited for Battle Network 3 possibly joining the Wii U eshop? Does this mean anything to you non Wii U owners? Of course, this is still just a rumor, however the evidence is strong and we can only hope for the best. While it may be awhile before we see a new Mega Man game, we can at least remember the good ol’ days, and enjoy his classic hits!
