Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie are the two latest Pokemon to receive Mega Evolutions for Pokemon ORAS
Serebii.net has revealed that the two latest Pokemon to get the Mega treatment will be Steelix and Glalie. Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie are the first piece of news that has been revealed for the upcoming Pokemon ORAS demo in which signing up for in the US will close on October 20th.

While we don’t know about its typing yet Mega Steelix will probably become a pure steel type and its Mega Evolution will probably increase its already insanely high physical defences. Mega Steelix will also get the Sand Force ability, which will increase the damage of Mega Steelixs Ground, Rock and Steel type moves in a Sandstorm.
Mega Steelix design is pretty neat. It has an extended jawline like with Mega Rayquaza and the horns on the sides of its body have been sharpened. The best part though is that there seems to now be a magnetic point behind its head which is causing steel flacks to spin around Mega Steelix.
Mega Glalie meanwhile will stay a pure Ice type and due to Glalie having no real stat advantages it’s hard to guess what stats will get a boost. Interestingly enough Mega Glalie will get the Refrigerate ability, which turns all Normal type moves into Ice type. Up until now this move was exclusive to the Amaura/Aurorus Pokemon.
Design-wise Mega Glalie looks pretty cool with its cape that kind of reminds me of Mega Gallade and an ice horn coming out of its head, because they needed to put the Mega Evolution’s mandatory spikes somewhere.
The interesting thing about this reveal is that these two are the first reveal that serebii.net has made on the upcoming Pokemon ORAS demo and this could mean that Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie are the two exclusive Mega Pokemon for the upcoming demo. If so then this clashes with the information that the recent and supposed huge insider leaked which claims that the exclusive demo Pokemon will be Mega Solrock and Mega Lunatone.
