Minecraft fans on PlayStation, rejoice! Sony has officially announced that the PlayStation Vita version of the recently Microsoft-acquired franchise will be releasing on the Sony handheld next week.
Originally scheduled for an August 2014 release, but was pushed back due to certification failures, Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition will launch digitally on the PlayStation Store on October 14, and at retail on November 11. The digital and physical copies of the game will both cost $19.99. Additionally, the PS Vita version of Minecraft will support cross-buy and allow save file transfer with the PlayStation 3 version only. However, if you wish to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, you will be able to do so for the small price of $4.99.
Last month, the developer of Minecraft, Mojang, sold the franchise to Microsoft for $2.5 Billion with studio founder “Notch” Persson saying he left because it wasn’t about the money, but his sanity.
