Sony San Diego announced today that the PlayStation 4 version of MLB 14 The Show will be released May 6th. This will follow the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita launch, which happens April 1st. Up until now, there was no concrete release date, only a vague May launch window was given. These releases follow the real MLB season, which will start with a two-game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks from March 22 to March 23, taking place in Sydney, Australia.
Sony San Diego confirmed that maintaining the same feature set was one of the main causes of the delayed MLB 14 PS4 launch. They also confirmed that the PS4 version will also be compatible with the Remote Play feature, allowing players to stream gameplay to their PS Vita. Lastly, they also confirmed the PS4 version will run at 1080P at 60fps. Overall, the PS4 version of MLB 14 offers significantly improved visuals over the last-gen consoles, so it might be a good idea to wait the extra month and pick up the next-gen version, assuming you own Sony’s newest console of course.
Are you going to wait for the PS4 version for those extra features? Let us know in the comments.
