Smartphone companies are today facing stiff competition from each other in all their phone models. Whether you are looking at high end phones or middle level ones, every company wants to have its fair share of the market by releasing phones that target those specific markets. The Motorola Moto G and Sony Xperia C are two phones targeting the same market, and below is how they compare.
Power
Both phones have 1 Mb memory with 1.2GHz quad core processors although the Motorola uses the famous Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset while Xperia is based on the Mediatek MT6589 chip. Furthermore, Sony Xperia has 4 GB inbuilt storage with the facility to increase your storage using an available card slot whereas the Moto G comes in 8 and 16 GB variants without an expansion slot.
Camera
If you love taking nice pictures, then you are better off with the Xperia. This is because it has an 8 MP camera which also supports 1080p video recording and a VGA front one. On the other hand, Moto G has a 5 MP camera that supports 720p, 30fps video recording although it has a better front camera at 1.3 MP. Both cameras have a flash to enable you take pictures in the dark.
Operating System
Motorola’s Moto G is shipped with android 4.3 while Xperia runs on android 4.2.2. Unfortunately, only Moto G can be upgraded to android 4.4.2, the latest android operating system.
Connectivity
The different types of connections that a phone supports play a key role in the choice of a phone. Although both phones lack LTE support, the Xperia can offer high speed data speeds of up to 42.2 Mbps while the Moto G can only reach speeds of 21 Mbps. Fortunately, they both have WiFi capabilities.
Screen
Today, many people look at the screen size before deciding which phone to buy. The Xperia has a 5.0 inch TFT screen while the Motorola Moto G has a 4.5 inch IPS LCD screen although with a better resolution at 1280 X 720. The pixel density for the Xperia is also at a low of 220 ppi while the Motorola has a pixel density of 329 making it clearer than the Xperia.
Verdict
If you have Moto G and Xperia C to choose from for your next phone, Xperia C would make the best choice. Other than having a lower pixel density, everything else about it is awesome.
