On Wednesday, Electronic Arts and Ghost Games officially announced new content for Need for Speed Rivals. Starting now and over the next four weeks, more cars will be released for download. The first of which is Jaguar and Ferrari. Two historic car manufacturers with racing ties dating back to the early part of the 20th century, both have released iconic cars over the years. Jaguar has been a namesake in the Need for Speed franchise for years.
The two Jaguars available are the XJ220 and the Jaguar C-X75 Prototype, which is the hybrid-electric two-seater that was named in honor of Jaguar’s 75th Anniversary. The XJ220, at one point, held the fastest top speed on earth. It was part of the early-90s supercar movement that included the likes of the McLaren F1. The Ferrari Pack will include the anniversary editions of the F40 1987 and F50 1995. The F40 is arguably one of the greatest cars of all time. A lot of fans were not necessarily pleased with its successor, but it was still an extremely fast car, nonetheless. Players can expect great competition with these rides when either running from cops, or chasing down the actual cars as a police officer.
In the upcoming weeks, fans will also be able to purchase the Lamborghini Pack, which will feature the limited edition Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo, and then the Need for Speed Movie Pack, which includes the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, the GTA Spano, and the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722. These packs will add some of the greatest supercars in the world. Packs will be sold separately for both Racers and Cops, or altogether in Complete Packs. Packs are available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC via Origin. The individual packs sell for $3.99, while the Complete Packs sell for $5.99.
