Ever since Hyrule Warriors was announced was announced in a Nintendo Direct back in December 2013, Zelda fans have eagerly been waiting to hear more. There hasn’t been much information about the game released until today. In the newest issue of Famitsu magazine, we discover some interesting pieces of information, however, these little tidbits can be considered minor spoilers, so continue reading at your own risk. Famistu features an interview with the team behind the game as well as several screenshots you can see below:
Yes we know it’s not much, but considering we’ve heard little to nothing over the past 5 months regarding this game, this is definitely a treat for Zelda fans. Unfortuntaley the images above are the biggest scans available as of now, so it makes translating the magazine pages a little difficult. According to Zelda Informer, here is a rough translation of what is revealed from these 2 pages:
- Premium box will be available for at least 10,000 yen (exact amount unknown)
- Retail release is at least 7,000 yen (exact amount unknown)
- Producers: Hisashi Koinuma, Yosuke Hayashi
- Supervisor: Eiji Aonuma
- Developers: ω-Force / Team NINJA
- Link sets off to rescue Princess Zelda (didn’t see that one coming right?)
- Zelda has been kidnapped by the evil witch Shia (New villian!)
- Link, Impa, Shia introduced in the magazine
- Some of Shia’s minions shown as well
- Shia might be under control of a force of dark magic (possibly)
- Locations include Hyrule Field (as seen in the game trailer)
- Will have unexpected playable characters
With E3 less than a month away there’s a very good chance we will learn more regarding Hyrule Warriors. According to the game’s teaser trailer, even the name Hyrule Warriors is not the game’s final title, but rather a working title. Perhaps Nintendo will give us a release date at E3, or at the very least, some more information regarding the game. Hyrule Warriors is not meant to be the next main Legend of Zelda title, but rather a spin-off. There is another unknown title currently in the works. The game’s release date for Japan is August 14th, but until we hear about a release date or see some new game footage here in the states, Legend of Zelda fans will just have to eagerly wait for some more information regarding Hyrule Warriors.
