For those of you worried about dealing with constantly cloaked enemies or players with faster movement making them harder to kill at all times, Sledgehammer Games thought of a solution to this. With the inclusion of Exo suits to the multiplayer gameplay, the studio was well aware of the possible balancing issues arising from them, and they decided to make the Exo abilities one use per life. This means that abilities such as cloaking, stim, riot shield and more can only be used once, which will drain the battery to its end. This was confirmed in an exchange between a player and Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey on Twitter.

Rest assured that this game will differentiate itself from games like Crysis and Halo, where suit abilities are a constant threat (which admittedly works for those games). Regarding the perks, a Reddit discussion confirms that the perk ‘Toughness’ won’t be as essential or as powerful as before. This perk first appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as the Weapon Proficiency called ‘Flinch’. It later appeared in Black Ops II as ‘Toughness’ and Ghosts as ‘Focus’, granting the player increased resistance to incoming fire. This meant that gun battles were sometimes uneven as one of the players might not flinch from getting shot, creating a situation where the perk dominates in engagements. This news is based off of players’ experience with early builds of the game and it might not reflect the full game when it hits retail.

In Call of Duty: Ghosts, certain guns have built in attachments such as a Silencer or Laser, and you could then attach 2 to 3 extra attachments using the allocated points and relevant perk. In Advanced Warfare, you’ll need the ‘Primary Gunfighter’ Wild Card to attach an additional 3rd attachment due to the re-introduction of the Wild Cards which originally appeared in Black Ops II. This was also confirmed during a Reddit discussion.

What this means is that a gun with a built in attachment will lock off one of your attachment segments, meaning you’ll need the Wildcard to get the 3rd additional attachment if you so wish. This prevents a situation like in Ghosts were guns like the Honey Badger have a built-in attachment but can be given up to 3 additional attachments using the Extra Attachment perk, giving the gun 4 attachments in total. Sledgehammer Games certainly thought of everything, thank goodness.
