The new Diablo 3 Patch 2.1 is now available for download on the Xbox One and Playstation 4. Players can expect a few new additions such as The Cesspool, The Vault, The Great Rifts and a couple of new loot items. Dust off your boots and helms and get ready to dive back into the looting realm of Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition.
One of the new additions, The Cesspool, is a new area that can be accessed during the Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts. The Cesspool is a dark underground sewer. This area was originally set as the sewers in Westmarch, but instead have become a new festering pit for treasure hunters.

As if the Treasure Trolls were not filled with enough treasure, now after defeating a troll there is a chance players will be able to access a secret area. The Vault is where the Treasure Trolls keep all the loot. Once inside gamers will have the opportunity to plunder the riches but not without a fight. The boss of The Vault, Baroness Greed, is not too keen with a couple of hackers and slashers making off with the booty. While in The Vault players may also find a key to The Greater Rifts.
The Greater Rifts are just like normal Nephelam Rifts except the levels are timed and the difficulty is greatly increased. To reach the next level of a Greater Rift, players must beat the Rift Guardian before time runs out. The level does not end when the timer ends rather players will not be able to progress. During the Greater Rift enemies do not give loot. Players instead receive loot from the Rift Guardian and also for completing levels. Rift Guardians will also be dropping a new type of loot, Legendary Gems.
Legendary Gems are a new type of gem that can drop during Great Rifts and The Vault. These new gems provide powerful abilities when socketed into a piece of armor. Another new piece of treasure Ramaladni’s Gift will provide players the opportunity to add a new socket to a piece of armor. These new additions are nice to see from Blizzard. Aside from the free content it is nice to see this kind of commitment toward Diablo 3.
