Nintendo UK has announced details on a UK version of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS National Championship.
Last week Nintendo of America announced plans and details for a championship tournament being hosted by Gamestop, and it looks like Nintendo UK will follow suit.
Nintendo UK has confirmed that registration for the championship will begin online on October 3rd and will end on October 8th and that all participants will be required to bring their own system and copy of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS in order to participate. Participants will be able to choose from the following GAME store locations that are set to begin the championship:
- Edinburgh, St James Centre
- Hull, St Stephens Centre
- Sheffield, Meadowhall
- Manchester, Trafford Centre
- Birmingham, Bullring
- Stratford, London, Westfield
- Chelmsford, Exchange way
- Bristol, Cribbs Causeway
The above locations will begin the championship event on October 11th and 12th. After the championship opening is completed, four finalists will be selected from each GAME location — equaling to 32 finalists — to compete at the UK finals to be set in York Hall in London on October 31st.
The winner of the championship will receive a Wii U, a copy of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and a bag filled with Nintendo goodies.
Though the site has yet to open, gamers interested will be able to sign up here starting on October 3rd.
