So now apparently the DualShock Ps4 controller is now able to connect to the Ps3 system without the use of a USB cable. Yup, due to the recent Ps3 update, you’ll now be able to connect your Ps4 controller to the little brother system wirelessly, although the PS button, Sixaxis and vibrate functions won’t work with this method. But at least this is a step in the right direction, if indeed Sony ultimately plans to give full support to the controller in possible updates. Basically what you need to do to get your Ps4 controller online with your Ps3 is outlined in these steps:
First, you connect the Ps4 controller to your Ps3 with the USB cable. After that you must go to your Accessory settings. From the Accessory settings, select “Manage Bluetooth Devices” and let the Ps3 scan for the device. While the scan begins, unplug your Ps4 controller. During the scan, hold both the PS and Share buttons on the controller until the light quickly flashes, at which point you must plug the Ps4 controller back in and select Wireless Controller. Let the registration finish up and then unplug and play!

Now you can game on your Ps3 and at least pretend that it’s a Ps4 until your next payday, allowance, whatever.
