Nyko’s new snap on “Power Pak” is available for the PS4’s DualShock 4 controllers. The battery pack connects via the controller’s micro USB port and supposedly doubles the controllers’s battery life which has been a major complaint amongst many gamers.
“It’s lightweight and does not impede gameplay or ergonomics, enabling users to extend their gaming sessions,” a Nyko rep promises.
The Power Pak is designed to add extra power while the controller’s in use, but it is also compatible with Nyko’s Charge Base, a dock that can store and charge two PS4 controllers when not in use. It’s available in most retailers for a recommended retail price of $20.
Can this accessory solve the DualShock 4’s battery woes? Here’s hoping it does because this one of the only few problems I have with the PS4 and hopefully Sony will release controllers with better batteries.
