The highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is nearing the final stage of development, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima has hinted.
Kojima has tweeted two images today of him working on the PlayStation 4 version of The Phantom Pain.
The first image features promotional artwork for The Phantom Pain alongside a screenshot of Big Boss seated in one of Diamond Dogs’ helicopters — a mechanic that allows player to travel from Mother Base into the open world (or vice versa) — with a caption saying, “Putting the game together.”

According to the recent Christmas-themed episode of Kojima Station, the Japanese voice actor for Revolver Ocelot, Kōji Totani, and Kojima said that there is still a significant amount of dialogue to record (mainly optional radio transmissions and story-related lines).
The second tweet includes an image of the chicken cap, a new piece of equipment revealed for The Phantom Pain during this week’s Kojima Station, and also a PS4 and iDroid phone case.
Additionally, Kojima added a caption for his second tweet: “Adjustment, specifications add, modify, and production enhancement. Today’s play check in PS4 edition.”

The development being made on MGSV seems to suggest that the title is still on course for its projected release in Q2 of 2015, while a Konami spokesperson recently dismissed rumours that The Phantom Pain would launch on February 24th, 2015.
Meanwhile, Metal Gear Online creative director Kotaro Oki has revealed that the multiplayer servers for MGO will be live on the same date that The Phantom Pain launches. New details on the mechanics and features integrated in MGO can be found here.
Running on Kojima Productions’ Fox Engine, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is rumoured to launch in Q2 of 2015 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
