Samsung Galaxy Ace and Ace Plus are just two of the extensive line of smartphones that the manufacturer has launched. These are very affordable devices that make great choices for handsets but of course, you can’t expect them to compete and work just the same with the latest phones released in the market. If you’re wondering what improvements were made on the successor, let’s try to put the two side by side and get a clear picture.
Sizes, Dimensions and Displays
Both phones have TFT screens supporting the same resolution of 320 x 480 pixels but as far as size is concerned, the first Galaxy Ace is a bit higher than the other at 3.5 inches and 165 ppi while the successor at 3.65 inches with lower pixel resolution of 158 ppi. For the dimensions, the Galaxy Ace Plus is bigger, measuring 114.5×62.5×11.2mm and weighing 115 grams while the first Galaxy ace is only measuring 112.4×59.9×11.55mm and weighing 113 grams. The two have rectangular shapes with round-edged bodies. On their front panel you will see the Back and Options capacitive buttons and a physical button in the middle.
Internal Components
With the improvements done to come up with Galaxy Ace Plus, it’s expected already that the Samsung Galaxy Ace model will come out as less powerful than the other as it is only powered by an 800 MHZ ARM 11 processor which is based on Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset. The two uses Adreno 200 GPU and the difference is in the use of 1GHZ Corte-A5 processor for the Galaxy Ace Plus. Thanks to the enhancements made to the Galaxy Ace that that used to have only 278 MB RAM capacity and now has doubled RAM capacity. The first Galaxy Ace phone only had an internal storage of 158 MB while the newer one has 3GB.
As for the operating systems used, both of them come with Gingerbread OS or Android 2.3 but it’s only the Ace Plus which can be upgraded to Jelly Bean.
Connectivity, Cameras, Batteries
Both models have the same support when it comes to connectivity and cameras. As for batteries, the Samsung Galaxy Ace has user-replaceable 1350 mAh while the successor has 1300 mAh which is kind of surprising why the new version has weaker battery.
Which Samsung Galaxy smartphone-Samsung Galaxy Ace or Ace Plus, do you think is worth the purchase? By the looks of it, the newer version is better than the predecessor, right?
