Both the phones have been released almost at the same time in the last few months. Their unique similarity is that they are both mid budget phones which have tied to give their best to the market. But which of them has done that a little better?

Samsung Galaxy Grand S Duos 2

This is a lower budget phone and is definitely toned down in terms of features. Therefore it does not have superior features like the S5 but has all the features necessary to make it a great casual phone.

Design & Display

It has a TFT capacitive touch screen which sports rich true colors. The design is one that fits your hands. With only a 4 inch screen this phone is quite compact and fits your grip easily. The 23 pixels per inch which adorn its screens are enough for it. There is multi touch too up to 2 fingers however. It is a light weight phone with only 118 grams body weight.

Specifications, Camera & Battery

We get a 768 MB RAM on this phone along with a 4 GB memory. The 768 MB RAM should be enough to make the 1.2 GHz Dual core processor run smoothly. It is primarily based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform.

Huawei Ascend Y530

We must say this phone has a better appeal than Grand S Duos in terms of dimensions and design. It was released in January 2014 – two months after S Duos 2. Can we see better features in it?

Design & Display

This phone has a 4.5 inch screen which is a little larger than S Duos 2 of course. It however has a low 218 pixels per inch screen resolution. A 5 mega pixels camera along with front VGA camera have been provided in this budget phone.

Specifications, Camera & Battery

This phone supports fast 4G connectivity. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8210 chipset along with Adreno 203 Graphics processor. The system is only Dual core 1.2 GHz but it is backed by a 512 MB RAM. Given a Dual core processor the RAM should have been at least 1 GB. The camera is 5 mega pixels with only LED and no autofocus to support it.

Overall

It seems like Huawei has compromised a bit too much with its phone features. Given the two choices, S Duos 2 is genuinely a better phone. It has got all the specifications arranged smartly.
