The AION 2 team has restricted a number of accounts after a thorough review found violations of its Operation Policy, with enforcement aimed at botting, gold farming, real-money trading, and economy abuse. NCSoft posted the notice, titled Account Restrictions, to the AION 2 Steam community page on October 11, 2026. The announcement does not state how many accounts were restricted. To keep AION 2 fair, the team says it continuously monitors in-game activity and the game’s service environment.
Two categories of Operation Policy violations
The first category covers botting and gold farming. It includes the use of macros, bots, or other unauthorized programs. It also includes organized play patterns consistent with gold farming or real-money trading, abbreviated as RMT. The second category covers economy abuse, which is defined as abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy.
Restrictions are applied only after review, in line with the Operation Policy. Normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected. The enforcement reason falls under Operation Policy > Sanctions Table > Gold Farming / Bot Operations, Use of Unauthorized Programs, Real-Money Trading (RMT).
GamerHeadlines covered AION 2’s commercial launch on October 5, 2026. AION 2 is a free-to-play MMORPG by NCSoft.
Security locks and enforcement timing
Separately, a small number of accounts were temporarily locked as a precaution when the team detected access from a device or connection that poses a potential security risk, such as a possible account compromise. A security lock is not a penalty. It protects the account and its items until the situation can be verified.
The enforcement date and time is October 10 (Sat), 23:00 PDT / October 11 (Sun), 08:00 CEST. GamerHeadlines recently reported that Apex Legends suspended 258 Predator players for account sharing, a similar live-service enforcement action.
Support path for restricted players
Players who were restricted or locked and believe it was in error can submit a ticket through Customer Support. The notice links to the AION 2 Operation Policy on plaync.com and to the Customer Support page at help.plaync.com. The team states every request is reviewed individually, and it will keep working to make sure all players can play in a fair and secure environment.
