The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook was announced during the Barnes & Noble event in the Union Square in New York in August. Is there anything special about this new product in the market? According to some people, this is simply a Samsung tablet that has a few proprietary Barnes & Noble software installed in it. This simply means for them that the tablet has the same price tag but if it’s the Nook version that you get, you’ll be stuck with the added software. Just like its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, this new one is equipped with a 7-inch display just that the Tab 4 Nook is the thinnest of all nook devices of 0.35 inches. Its weight is only 9.7 ounces according to Barnes & Noble. Also, this device is using a quad core processor with RAM of 5GB and internal storage of 8GB which may be expanded using a micro SD card.
Operating System
Based on a few reviews that were conducted by different organizations, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook has an enhanced user interface which was done by Barnes & Noble. The device is preloaded with the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and it allows its potential user full access to Google Play and gives him/her the ability to install loads of different available applications.
Barnes & Noble Branding
Almost everything about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook is the same with the company’s other tablet versions that the branding of Barnes & Noble is not really obvious. It only has its giant widget which shows the Nook Library on the home screen with available shortcuts to the Nook Search, Nook Shoop and Nook Today. In short, you will more or less get the regular Samsung Android device at an affordable price.
Price
There’s not that much of a difference of the price of the Tab 4 Nook with the regular Tab 4. The Nook version is sold right now at around $240 with this price still eligible for a discount on the online store of Barnes & Noble.
