Select Titanfall PC Modes Only Available In Private Matches

by GH Staff
Titanfall's Capture the Flag and Pilot Hunter modes on PC have been removed from public play.

Every multiplayer game has those few online modes that lack player-interest. Whether it’s Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag or FFA, players will always have a favorite mode to play…and a least-favorite at the opposite end. According to a recent Tweet from the developer of Titanfall’s PC version, Respawn Entertainment will be relocating a few of Titanfall’s least-played modes away from public matches.

Those of you who have logged into the PC version over the course of this weekend may have noticed that the public library of modes was looking a little slim. Last Friday, Respawn Entertainment posted a Tweet stating that both Capture the Flag (CTF) and Pilot Hunter have both been removed from public play. Both modes are still within Titanfall, but can only be played within Private Matches and Variety Playlists. As of right now, the public multiplayer listings only show Attrition, Last Titan Standing, Hardpoint, Variety Pack, Expedition Variety Pack, and Expedition Attrition as the available modes.

While this change may come as a disappointment to some, Respawn’s Tweet states that they will “tweak lists as we add maps & modes”:

This could suggest that as the interest of players shifts over each “patch window” (i.e. gameplay period before the next update), Respawn may add, remove, and shuffle around even more matches. Some of your favorites could end up in Private/Variety-only servers, and vice versa…Hopefully, the extreme version of this won’t happen, where multiplayer modes are just removed from Titanfall in their absolute entirety. In response to a fan comment on Twitter, Respawn confirmed that they will not be removing CTF from the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall….Then again, the Xbox 360 version is developed by Bluepoint Games.
At the moment, no plans have been detailed as far as multiplayer changes and mode-shuffling for the Xbox One version of Titanfall.
