As the name sounds, the root of this game is going to be set in the plot; Earth is dying, and the only hope humanity has for survival is abandoning the planet in search of another option. The player will be thrown upon some unknown world, constantly encountering extraterrestrial life, pushing their limits to survive, and 2K Games alludes to the fact that you’ll more than likely come into unavoidable conflict with other factions of mankind over whose vision of the future is “correct.” For fans of the classic Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri, this game is an answer to a bunch of supposedly unheard prayers. As for the Civilization development team, it’ll be a pleasant experience to finally dabble in other aspects not tied to the constraints of history.
