Sony offers PlayStation MVP Program to gaming enthusiasts

by GH Staff

If you are an avid gamer, an enthusiast and purist, Sony is looking for people to start contributing to their forums and supporting their events. Now anyone can contribute to a forum, but being a PlayStation MVP, looks to bring the average internet “lurker” a bit more involvement in the industry. These PlayStation gamers, if selected, will bring quite a few things to the table to help support the PlayStation community. Gamers will help volunteer at gaming events and online tournaments, along with contributing walkthroughs and help articles to people in need on the PlayStation Forums. Lastly, gamers will get to share their expert opinions on special “panels” and discussions with the PlayStation Community Management Team. So basically if you want your voice heard, and you stand up for what you believe in, you have the potential to join this elite team from Sony.

In 2013, selected MVP’s were able to attend events such as E3 in Los Angeles, and even the PlayStation 4 launch in NYC. These individuals were able to have private sessions with developers and meet key people on the show floor at E3 2013. The MVP’s have also recently started assisting in the development of community programs for developers Guerrilla Games and Naughty Dog.

The PlayStation MVP program is made up of fans of the brand who volunteer their time, as gamers, to connect with their community and the company on a deeper level.

There is an application process for getting involved as a PlayStation MVP. First and foremost, an account is needed on the PlayStation forum. Previous experience with gaming involvement elsewhere will boost your chances. Developing a relationship on the forum with access to developer’s direct support forums such as Sony Santa Monica and Naughty Dog will be key in becoming a MVP. This concept is fairly new to Sony, and can give gamers a potential foot in the door to the gaming industry.
