Thanking Indie Developers Day 15: Introversion Software

by GH Staff

Almost half-way through our list of independent game developers, Gamer Headlines spotlights Introversion Software and Darwinia; this strategy game sends the players in a virtual universe with a savvy program that sends green digital lifeforms and other artificial intelligence called “Darwinians” to combat any incoming threats from a computer virus. According to Introversion Software, the graphics are rendered to resemble the “80’s retro classics like Tron and Defender”.

In these sometimes frenzy massacre settings, one might believe that the story is nonexistent, but the creator has provided a little background excerpt with a description that mentions “a tribe of nomadic sprites trapped in a modern 3D world”. Despite the lack of a narrative, most folks will just focus on defending the territories and controlling these little minions who shoot at other guys for a couple of hours.

Besides the short and brief generalization of the game, here’s another one of those wonderful thank you messages!

“Wanted to give my thumbs up on this retro RTS strategy game! Played it at Steam for a good deal, and it’s totally worth the 16 hours. During the first impression hours, the polygonal graphics and the 8-Bit sounds have that overall cliche atmosphere, but it’s still very pleasing and fitting. Now, the gameplay is way more fun in a non-frustrating way then what others might have stated it because I was entertained at purging against the lethal computer viruses while using a variety of tools in every step toward the ending.”
