Exclusive games define consoles and their legacy. 2 years ago at E3 Sony promised us a gaming experience that could not be achieved anywhere else thus putting huge emphasis on the exclusive titles coming our way in the coming years. Jump ahead 1 year to this years E3, Sony showed us a shmorgishborg of titles that could only be found on PS4. 5 of which stood out to me as instant classics and must buys for Sony system fanatics.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture

With the recent influx of games trying to push the player to drive the story, characters and narrative, the studio pairing of The Chinese Room and Santa Monica looked to have produced one of the most promising yet. Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture follows six characters through the village of Shropshire, similar to the film ‘Sean of the Dead’, during an apocalypse. The mass of playable characters will no doubt see a mass of diverse stories told. All controlled by the player.

No Man’s Sky

By now, most fans of Sony will have heard of this game as it’s creators, Hello Games, have had much praise from the majority of experts in the gaming community. The player has a seemingly infinite world at their disposal that they are able to explore, create and destroy. Another unique selling point the developers at Hello Games have expanded on is the ‘One Life, One Death’ feature. Yes, that means you could spend hours upon hours crafting your ideal planet only to be killed and it to be lost in the universe forever. Many would argue that this was the best looking indie game of the entire 3 day show and has much promise to become one of the best ever. Much like that other open world game developed by that little company Mojang, that took the world by storm.

LittleBigPlanet 3

Sackboy. Is. Back. Now with 3 furry friends that have a particular set of skills. Skills that make these more complex levels easier to navigate. All theses new characters are similar to Sackboy as you are able to fully customise each character and give them their own LBP personality. If you want to check out these new characters, check out the video above. Our friends over at Media Molecule have adopted the standard LittleBigPlanet experience in order to give it a fresh new twist when bringing it to the next generation of PlayStation console. LittleBigPlanet 3 looks the best in the series yet and Shuhei Yoshida loves it, so you must too.

Eve Valkyrie

This dogfighting space shooter looks to fire ‘WarThunder’ fans into the future and BEYOND! Eve Valkyrie is a virtual reality simulator so it will require Project Morpheus on release, keep an eye out for PM too. Eve-VR, it’s original name, is built on the Unreal Engine 4 so the look of the game will be fantastic. The release date is yet to be announced but if Project Morpheus gets a lot of positive attention, Sony could direct much of it’s success due to Eve Valkyrie.

Uncharted 4

If the heavy rumours of this trailer playing on the in-game engine are true, then this could be the best looking game ever made. The Uncharted series gave Naughty Dog a huge amount of praise and, in my opinion, are the best studio out there. Now there is no doubt Naughty Dog have some of the best creative minds in the business but with the recent departure of Writer Amy Hennig many fans are left bewildered by what is going on within the studio. Here’s hoping that this doesn’t create too much of a downer for their upcoming title.  The short teaser trailer sees Drake wake up from a sleep, of sorts, in a mysterious jungle for ‘one last time’ thus hinting at this being the final episode in the series.
