Creative Assembly has rolled out Patch 9.0.3 for Total War: WARHAMMER III. The patch updates Nagash’s campaign based on player feedback, tweaks the Lords of the End Times factions, delivers wider battle balancing changes including to the Lore of Nehekhara, and fixes a swathe of bugs.

Creative Assembly has also announced Total War: Warhammer 40,000, its first sci-fi entry in the Total War: Warhammer series.

Nagash Campaign Updates

An early Black Pyramid node now grants -40% upkeep for Nagash. Early Tomb Kings, Vampire Coast, and Vampire Counts sections of the Black Pyramid grant -10% upkeep for units led by a matching lord type or Nagash himself. Post-battle income now scales with campaign difficulty, with no change on Legendary and Very Hard, +5% on Hard, +10% on Normal, and +20% on Easy.

Sigil progression has been adjusted. The Legendary Lord subjugation bonus in the Mortarchs panel rises from 5 to 10 Sigils. Sigils from Nagashizzar and the Black Pyramid of Nagash rise from 2/4/6/8/10 to 3/6/9/12/15. Standard Necropolises rise from 2/2/4/4/6 to 2/3/4/5/8. The Necromancy Panel Sigil unlock requirement drops from 200 to 100 Necromantic Energy for new campaigns. Necropolises get improved garrisons, and military building chains grant -1% factionwide upkeep for their associated unit types while the province is devastated.

For Mortarch subjugation, the “own a maximum of 5 regions” requirement is replaced. Nagash must now control more than three times as many regions as the Mortarch. Location-specific objectives are removed in favor of thematic objectives. These changes apply to new campaigns only.

Battle Balancing and Lore of Nehekhara

Empire units are buffed. The “Crush the Weak” ability is reworked to be intensity-based, granting up to +15% Weapon Strength and +8 Melee Attack while the unit is winning combat. Skaven are reined in. Verminlords and Skreech Verminking have their “Protection of the Horned Rat” maximum missile resistance bonus lowered from +60% to +30%. The Warp-Doom Magma Cannon costs +150 gold more. Lahmian Handmaidens have their attack knockback strength reduced.

The Lore of Nehekhara receives an overhaul. Neru’s Incantation of Protection adds Immune to Contact Effects. Ptra’s Incantation of Righteous Smiting now grants +15 Reload Skill. Usekhp’s Incantation of Desiccation adds a Vigour debuff of +1% per second.

Bug Fixes

Legendary Lords and Heroes confederated after their faction is destroyed now retain their Items and Ancillaries. Nagash now has access to Unusual Locations and Ancillaries. Styrkaar is now available to Norscan factions. Warriors of Chaos can continue recruiting after their Lord is defeated. Fervour is correctly awarded after fighting settlements defended by a garrisoned army. The Gotrek and Felix quest battle now resolves correctly.
