Because it wasn’t hard enough Bearzly played Dark Souls with a Rock Band controller
When it was originally released back in 2011, Dark Souls became a bit of a cult classic due in part to the games difficulty. It’s this boast of difficulty that has made it somewhat of an open challenge to players but it looks like it wasn’t hard enough for some, because Twitch streamer Bearzly actually played Dark Souls with a Rock Band controller, and beat Ornstein and Smough.
For those of you who haven’t played Dark Souls 1, Ornstein and Smough are basically the games wall that you need to overcome so you can fight the four main bosses in the game. Due to the fact that you have to fight them both at the same time and because one gets stronger after you kill the other, a lot of gamers gave up playing the game because of them and now Bearzly has beaten them with a Rock Band controller.
Even when used in the games they were designed for, the Rock Band controller was a little clunky but if you look at the control scheme Bearzly used for Dark Souls, it’s impressive that he even got to Ornstein and Smough, let alone kill them both. He had to move the control up to run forward and in parts of the video you can see him struggling to lock on.
Not only were the controls in awkward places but he was also missing some basic controls like blocking, heavy attacks and even moving to the right.
