Wasteland 2 is the sequel to Wasteland, Interplay Productions’ 1988 post-apocalyptic computer role-playing game. The original Wasteland is the predecessor of the more widely known Fallout series.
Wasteland 2 has officially launched today, September 19th, and is now available for PC on both Steam and GOG.com.
The game comes in two forms – Classic and Digital Deluxe Edition – for $39.99/$59.99 respectively.

For those who don’t know, Wasteland 2 is developed by inXile Entertainment, and was successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter, alongside a number of other prominent game developers’s projects. The game was originally slated to release in Octover of 2013, however it was delayed to September 19, 2014.
Brian Fargo, one of the original designers behind the first Wasteland and founder of InterPlay productions, started inXile Entertainment in 2003. Other designers behind the original Wasteland joined the team, including Obsidian’s CEO, Chris Avellone, in order to work together on the writing and overall design of the game.
Jason Anderson, one of the creators of the Fallout series, was initially hired as a creative director for Wasteland 2, but he left the company in 2011 to join Turtle Rock Studios. However, his story and character designs are still present in the game.
Wasteland 2‘s soundtrack is composed by Mark Morgan, who was behind Fallout and Fallout 2‘s soundtracks.
GamerHeadlines.com has received a review copy of the final build of Wasteland 2, so expect a full review of the game in the coming week(s).
The game is expected to contain over 80+ hours of gameplay, which is great for gameplay, but not so much in terms of reviewing the game in a timely manner.
