Witcher 3 Opening Cinematic at Golden Joystick Awards

In the middle of last week, it was announced via press release that the opening cinematic for the upcoming addition to the critically acclaimed Witcher series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, would be featured during this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. The game’s developer, CD Projekt RED, has been gearing up to unveil this cinematic for the first time ever.

The cinematic trailer itself will debut on Friday, October 24th during the Golden Joystick Awards Ceremony at 15:45 British Summer Time, and tuning into the event will be a chance to be among the first people in the whole world to watch the franchise protagonist, Geralt of Rivia, follow “The Trail“, which – according to the press release – foreshadows the main storyline of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The Trail was teased earlier on this month following a tweet from CD Projekt RED’s community manager, Marcin Momot. It was added to the official Witcher 3 website, which reportedly asked you to enigmatically “follow the trail, find the secret” when it first went up. This little addition the the game’s official website now preludes to the forthcoming opening cinematic, as the message has now been replaced with a countdown timer, which adds up to this coming Friday. Once the cinematic has first aired at the Golden Joystick Awards Ceremony, according to the press release, it’ll then become available for all to watch thereafter on the same page.

Additionally, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been nominated for the Golden Joystick Awards’ “Most Wanted” category.
