Fans of both ‘The Witcher‘ series and table-top games can rejoice now that the two have been combined.  “The Witcher Adventure Game,” designed by CD PROJKET RED and creators of the critically acclaimed “The Witcher” RPG franchise is a unique table-top board game adaptation in the universe of the same name.

Up to four players can take control of Geralt, Dandelion, Triss Merigold, or Yarpen Zigrin and take upon a variety of quests to hunt monsters, earn gold on missions, and interact with other characters from The Witcher universe met in a web of alliances and treachery.

“We are very excited to bring Adventure Game to Witcher and board game fans alike. We have worked with Ignacy Trzewiczek, Fantasy Flight and Can Explode for a long time to make this an ideal entry for board game beginners, as well as a fun experience for people who know this genre and universe by heart. The rules are simple but not simplistic, the artwork creates a phenomenal atmosphere that just drips out of the board, and the physical components are of the best of possible quality. We hope you will enjoy this game for months and years to come,”

– Rafał Jaki, The Witcher Adventure Game Executive Producer.

The playable characters each excel in a different set of skills unique to themselves.  For example, players can use Geralt’s swordsmanship skills while Triss can use her magic spells.  Dandelion can bribe others with gold, while Yarpen can call upon other dwarves to command.  Each character comes with their own set of development cards and offers players replayability by experimenting with different builds.  Players can also choose to work alone, together, or against the others.  The game has 30 different monsters, and contains over 280 cards.  Quest cards describe the details of a main quest, along with side and support actions, as well as consequential scenarios.

‘The Witcher Adventure Game’ is available in either a physical board-game format or a digital adaptation version.  Both versions will contain the same experience, including the set of 280 cards and 30 monsters.  The physical version will include “meticulously crafted figures of in-game characters, and specially created, superior quality dice by Q-Workshop.”

The digital version of the game, developed by Can Explode, is available on Google Play, Apple Appstore, Steam and GOG.com for both PC and Mac.  (Prices vary depending on the store.)  Physical table-top board game versions of the game can be found at various board-game stores.
