Slacker, a chat application that is gaining popularity among a fairly large number of prominent companies (including technology/gaming giant Microsoft), has been subject to a recent data leak that has revealed what companies/groups a specific company is in contact with.

As previously mentioned, Microsoft is one of the companies whose chat groups have been unveiled. Interestingly enough, looking over the other names, familar names such as DX, OneDrive, OneNote, Azure, Windows, et cetera, are clearly present.

However, the group that stands out the most, particularly to the gaming community, is one called –

Xbox Super Secret 2015.”

Read more details about the Slacker data leak, Microsoft, and “Xbox Super Secret 2015,” and see a related video after the break.

The video below details the Slacker data leak and provides a closer look at Microsoft and “Xbox Super Secret 2015” (courtesy of The Red Dragon).

As for what “Xbox Super Secret 2015” and what it may entail? It’s up in the air. Rumor and speculation has thrown around that it may be something related to Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 10 operating system, maybe something to do with the DirectX 12 API and its implementation.

Others have said it may have to do with the cloud, the recently revealed “IllumiRoom” proof of concept, augmented reality, Cortana, or even (to the delight of Xbox One owners around the world) backwards compatibility.

As mentioned in the video above, while the chat group names have been revealed, the actual contents of respective group’s chat logs have been kept private and no data has been leaked.

What are your thoughts on the Slacker chat app’s data leak? More importantly, what do you think “Xbox Super Secret 2015” might be? What do you hope it will be? Backwards compatibility, Cortana implementation, or something much bigger?
