Thanks to the recently filed report on the USK ratings board, European fans are celebrating about the possibility that Rune Factory 4 could possibly arrive very soon. With the sudden news circulating the globe, XSEED Games has finally told online gaming publication Siliconera that the company is trying to release Rune Factory 4 in Europe. Although the farming simulator/role-playing game is finally coming, it will be distribute as a digital only copy. Here’s a sneak peek at the game:

Due to the developer’s bankruptcy, the highly anticipated project was canceled in Europe, but North Americans were still able to acquire the title. As such, XSEED Games are more cautious and weary about the situation at hand. To provide an explanation, XSEED Games’s Executive VP, Ken Berry, shared a few words:
“The situation is that we know the Rune Factory 4 fans in Europe have suffered enough with one cancellation already, so we didn’t want to announce anything until the game passed [Nintendo of Europe] certification and we were sure its digital-only eShop release was imminent since we are using a different programming house to try to pick up where the original dev team left off.”
Because they’re finishing the translations and more on the project, fans could possibly see this fourth sequel sometime next year. After all, they’re still tinkering with the programming and filing reports for licences and marketing.
“Though I can’t disclose which development house is handling the PAL localization programming duties for us, I can say that it’s been in the works for months already and we hope to start the master submission process with NOE within the next couple weeks.”
