IO Interactive released the free Extended Operations DLC for 007 First Light on October 5, 2026, and it is available now. The update adds a New Game+ mode, a Photo Mode, and new TacSim content to the game. The studio announced the launch through the 007 First Light Steam community page under the title “Extended Operations Is Live: Your Mission Continues!” The post opens with a call to watch a brand new trailer for the update.
Extended Operations lands during a busy stretch for the game. Earlier this year, developer IO Interactive removed Denuvo from the Steam version of 007 First Light, a change that arrived only two months after the game’s Steam launch, and in May the game topped the PlayStation Store downloads chart. The new DLC follows those milestones as the latest free content drop for the game.
New Game+ and the 00 Difficulty Mode
New Game+ gives players a second run through 007 First Light, and it is how players prove their 00 agent skills. The mode carries over every gadget and outfit a player unlocked during their first playthrough. It also introduces a new 00 difficulty mode for players who want to master their craft.
Photo Mode
Photo Mode is one of the most requested additions in the update, according to IO Interactive. Players can freeze the action and capture their favorite scenes, and each captured scene has a chance to be featured in-game. The feature is part of the free Extended Operations DLC, so every 007 First Light owner can use it without an extra purchase.
TacSim Content and the Valhalla Protocol
The update adds new TacSim content as well, including the Valhalla Protocol. The challenge is a race against time through the mountains of Slovakia, and players take it on in a fully kitted and weaponized Aston Martin. The other new TacSim option sends players back to Vietnam to retrieve highly confidential documents.
Players can take part in the new challenges and see where they rank on the global leaderboard. The announcement also mentions a discount of up to 30 percent in the Steam Autumn Sale.
