Valve shipped a follow-up Counter-Strike 2 patch on September 23, one day after the Rush Hour update. The patch increases the maximum countdown-after-elimination time from 7 seconds to 14 seconds on end rooms and Convoy.

Rush mode timer tweaks

The countdown-after-elimination time does not activate in cases where an entire team dies to suicides, team kills, and/or disconnects. Valve also reduced warmup time once all players have connected, freeze time, and technical timeout time. The patch includes various gap fixes and clipping adjustments.

Crosshair system moves to pixel units

Valve detailed the new crosshair system after the Rush Hour update. Thickness and length units are now measured in pixels. In the past, values used an arbitrary scale and were converted to pixels based on display resolution, so the same value could produce different pixel counts at different resolutions. The new settings make a 1-pixel-wide crosshair with an 8-pixel bar length and a 4-pixel gap set as thickness=1, length=8, gap=4.

The system automatically rescales pixel counts when display resolution changes. A crosshair configured at 1280×720 with a 2-pixel thickness automatically rescales to a 4-pixel thickness at 2560×1440 so it stays proportionally the same. Valve added an option to draw half-outlines, which only draws the top-left portions of the outline for a crosshair, and fixed a bug preventing a 0 gap width from being respected.

A static square crosshair style has been added. The minimum dynamic spread distance is reduced to 64 pixels. The new dynamic crosshair styles show the real weapon spread and inaccuracy, and the Dynamic Spread Limit setting caps how far the crosshair spreads at maximum inaccuracy and spread. The baseline spread distance of 64 pixels covers the weapons with the largest spread so players can better understand how accurate they are.

Bug fixes and clan tags

The patch fixes a case where left-handed viewmodels would animate incorrectly while silent reloading. It also fixes a case where thirdperson player models would animate too fast while silent reloading and a case where firstperson Dual Berettas would animate incorrectly while reloading. Clan tags now appear in death notices.

The September 23 patch follows the larger September 22 Rush Hour content update.
