NCsoft’s AION 2 commercial launch begins after an 8-hour scheduled game server maintenance that closes the Advanced Access period. AION 2 is NCsoft’s free-to-play PC MMORPG, and the game launches globally on October 5, 2026. The maintenance window runs October 4, 2026 at 22:00 PDT, or October 5, 2026 at 07:00 CEST. The global launch server lineup was revealed ahead of that date, and NCsoft posted the scheduled maintenance notice on October 4, 2026.
Launch improvements for characters and quest objects
The launch build shortens the character deletion waiting period from 168 hours to 24 hours. The minimum level required to delete a character changes from Level 10 to Level 1. When no input is entered, the wait time before being redirected to the server selection screen is adjusted from 30 minutes to 3 hours. In-game announcements change from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.
Quest progression receives several interaction changes. Objects required for quest progression now have smoother interaction. Some objects no longer disappear, and the respawn time for others is shortened. The stats of some bosses are adjusted because they were set too low for the intended difficulty of a five-player party.
Launch bug fixes
Several fixes land with the launch build. A bug that caused characters to occasionally return to their previous position when approaching other players while using Auto Move during a quest is fixed. The launch also clears an error affecting Journal – Duty content and removes the duplicate Content entry that appeared multiple times in Settings > Key Settings > Menu.
Players can now proceed with subsequent quests even if the client closed while a quest was in progress, an issue that previously blocked normal progression. A teleport option lets players reach Verteron or Altgard even when they cannot travel there during the Poeta/Ishalgen Hero Quests, and it appears as a button in the Quest Tracker. The build also fixes the English title “Vanguard of Atreia” displaying as “Shaper of Heavens” in the title menu after being obtained. NCsoft notes that the maintenance schedule and details are subject to change, and any changes will be announced via the notice.
