Gaijin Entertainment has opened the 245th War Thunder Steam Screenshot Competition. The competition is called Lightfooted. The official announcement was published on Steam on October 10, 2026. The developer said it loved last week’s submissions. For this week’s theme, the developer wants lightweight vehicles that have great speed and agility. Players should grab a favorite light vehicle and capture a screenshot of it scouting on the battlefield, or participating in a dogfight.

Prizes and deadline

The three most popular screenshots and the three selected by the judges will get 300 GE. GE is the in-game Golden Eagles currency. The deadline for entries is the 16th of October. After that date, six winners will be selected, and each winner receives 300 GE. Rewards are delivered to the author’s account within 14 working days.

How to enter

To take part, create a screenshot and submit it on the War Thunder Steam Community Hub with the tag #WTscreen245. The tag must be added, and the title cannot have any other text in it. Screenshots must comply with the War Thunder rules. Players need to be the author of the screenshot. The screenshot also needs to be new, and players cannot use images previously published or used in other competitions.

Screenshot requirements

The screenshot must include an aircraft or helicopter with one engine, a light tank or wheeled vehicle, or a coastal fleet vehicle. Only raw in-game screenshots are accepted. No editing software and no visual enhancements such as Nvidia Ansel filters are allowed. Players can use filters and settings built into War Thunder, and the replay functionality built into War Thunder. Artists may only win by popular vote once per four screenshot competitions.

The developer also announced the winners of the 244th edition, Standing Together. Three were selected by community votes and three were selected by the judges. Each of those winners received 300 GE.

Beyond the weekly contests, War Thunder has kept a steady cadence of updates, including a test for the updated Southeastern City map in the Nuclear Escalation mode. On the competitive side, the WTCS Pro League Major III recently concluded, with Grand Finals dates now set.
