Nintendo has confirmed a repair price revision for the Nintendo Switch 2 console body in Japan, effective for repairs that arrive at the company on Monday, November 16, 2026. The company attributes the change to rising repair part prices. The most expensive repair category moves from 27,500 yen to 37,400 yen tax included, according to Nintendo’s Japan repair pricing page. The listed fees apply to the console body, model BEE-001, and only to the four revised console repair categories.
Revised console repair prices
All revised reference prices are in Japanese yen and include tax. The new fees take effect for repair items that arrive at Nintendo on or after Monday, November 16, 2026. The before and after prices are as follows.
| Repair category | Until November 15 | From November 16 |
|---|---|---|
| CPU board (won’t power on, screen freezes, won’t charge, game won’t load) | 27,500 yen | 37,400 yen |
| LCD unit and some CPU board parts (cracked LCD, display not normal, touch not responding) | 15,400 yen | 16,500 yen |
| Parts other than CPU board and LCD unit (game card slot damage, USB Type-C fault, battery replacement) | 9,900 yen | 11,000 yen |
| Parts other than CPU board and LCD unit (no earphone sound, SD card not readable, no built-in speaker sound) | 7,150 yen | 8,250 yen |
Nintendo prices this repair menu by component. A console that will not power on is directed to the CPU board fee, while a cracked screen is directed to the LCD unit fee.
The CPU board repair is the outlier. Its price climbs by 9,900 yen, or about 36 percent, and it covers symptoms most associated with a failed main board: no power, screen freezes, no charge, and games that will not load. The LCD unit tier rises by only 1,100 yen from 15,400 to 16,500 yen, roughly 7 percent. That category includes some CPU board parts, but the listed price movement is far smaller than the full CPU board repair. The two lower-cost tiers also rise by 1,100 yen each, from 9,900 to 11,000 yen and from 7,150 to 8,250 yen. As a share of the prior price, those lower tiers rise about 11 percent and 15 percent respectively.
What is not changing
The revision does not touch accessory repair prices. Nintendo lists these fees separately from the console body change, and the Japanese pricing page does not include them among the revised items.
- Nintendo Switch 2 Dock: 6,930 yen
- Dock cover: 880 yen
- Joy-Con 2: 3,960 yen per controller, with a left plus right pair costing 7,920 yen
- Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller: 6,490 yen
- Nintendo Switch 2 Camera: 3,960 yen
The dock cover is 880 yen and is also sold as a part. The Joy-Con 2 fee is priced per controller, and even motion-heavy Switch 2 titles like Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, the $49.99 Switch 2 exclusive run on that same controller, whose repair fee stays at 3,960 yen per unit.
When the new prices apply
Nintendo uses the arrival date as the cutoff; purchase and shipment dates do not affect the fee. A repair that arrives at Nintendo by November 15, 2026 is still assessed at the pre-revision fee, while a console mailed before November 16 but delivered on or after that Monday falls under the new pricing.
Nintendo has published this revision only on its Japanese support site, with prices in yen and tax included. The page does not say whether similar revisions are planned for other regions or how long the new prices will remain in effect.
