Nintendo announced on October 26 that the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Switch Online will launch in the Philippines on November 10, 2026, covering both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch, according to the official Nintendo announcement. The two services are new to the country, and November 10 is the first time players there can use an official Philippine storefront and subscription service. Before that date, the country had no official local storefront, and game purchases and online play could not run through a Philippine Nintendo service.

What the Nintendo eShop brings

Through the eShop, players buy games, downloadable content, and Nintendo Switch Online memberships. The announcement names no separate Philippine build or reduced feature set, and it uses the same Nintendo eShop name that appeared in the company’s earlier Southeast Asia launches. Players who have followed the Switch 2 eShop charts from outside the region will be able to buy those games locally starting November 10.

What Nintendo Switch Online includes

The subscription offers online battles and cooperative play, a wide selection of titles from past Nintendo consoles, and exclusive games limited to subscribers. Save Data Cloud stores save data on Nintendo’s servers, and progress survives a lost or replaced machine. Nintendo says the feature makes playing on either console more fun and convenient. The announcement does not name the past console titles arriving at the Philippine launch or explain how the rotating classic catalogue breaks down by platform or release window.

Platform scope: Switch 2 and original Switch

The launch covers both console generations. An owner of the original Switch can buy digital games and subscribe without upgrading to a Switch 2 first, and a Switch 2 owner gets the same services on the same date.

Southeast Asia rollout context

Nintendo announced the same services for Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand on October 15, 2025, with a scheduled start of November 18, 2025, covering the same two console families and the same set of functions. The Philippines becomes the fourth Southeast Asian market in that expansion. The Philippine announcement is dated October 26, 2026, and reuses the earlier structure almost word for word. The notice-to-launch gap shrank from about five weeks in 2025 to about two weeks now. Nintendo has not said which Southeast Asian market comes next.

Confirmed benefits and the unspecified terms

The announcement covers digital services only and does not describe physical game availability in the Philippines. The “wide selection of titles” is not quantified, so the size of the Philippine classic catalogue is unknown. Nintendo has not disclosed regional pricing, payment methods, membership tiers, or whether the full past console catalogue will match other regions at launch.
