Nokia and Samsung are some of the big names in the mobile industry. These two companies have been ranked as the worlds top preferred handsets. They have continued to roll out new gadgets every year as they intend to maintain their top positions. Some of the handsets released by the companies include Nokia Lumia 625 and Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo which were well received on the phone market. The two phones have some similarities as well as differences in their features.
Specifications
Nokia Lumia 625 has a RAM of 512 MB and an internal memory of 8 GB. It has a microSD slot with an expansion memory of up to 64 GB. The phone has a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor. Samsung galaxy on the other hand, has an internal memory of 8 GB with a 1 GB RAM. It also has a microSD slot with an expansion capability of up to 64 GB. It has a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor.
Design
Nokia Lumia weighs 159g with body measures of 5.25 x 2.85 x 0.36 inches. It has a 4.7 inches LCD capacitive touchscreen. Samsung Galaxy weighs a bit more with 162g with measurements of 5.65 x 3.03 x 0.38 inches. It’s screen is of 5.7 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen.
Camera
Nokia Lumia has a 5 MP primary camera with an autofocus and LED flash. Some other features include geo-tagging and touch-focus. It’s video resolution is at 1080p@30fps. Samsung Galaxy’s primary camera has 8 MP with LED flash and autofocus. The secondary camera has 2 MP. Other camera features include face and smile detection, touch focus, geo-tagging, image stabilization. The video resolution is of 1080p@30fps quality along with stereo sound recording.
Battery
Nokia’s battery is non-removable with Li-lon technology. It has a capacity of 2000 mAh and a talk time of up to 24 hours. Samsung’s battery is also of Li-lon technology with a capacity of 2100 mAh. The battery’s talk time is of 11 hours.
Operating System
Nokia uses Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system which is upgradable to v8.1. Samsung on the other hand uses Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system that is also upgradable to v4.2.2.
On the phone market, Nokia Lumia 625 costs $180.00 while Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo costs $226.49.
Based on the features and the price tag, I would comfortably go for Nokia Lumia 625. As much as most of it’s features are lower compared to that of Samsung, the difference is not that significant and furthermore it’s pocket friendly.
