Warframe, the wildly-popular AAA Free-to-Play game developed by Digital Extremes is now available on the Xbox ONE as of September 2nd. After having critical success on both the PC and PS4, it was only a matter of time before Warframe made its debut on the Xbox ONE. Warframe is the first, of what is expected to be many Free-to-Play titles released through the ID@Xbox program.
What Is The ID@Xbox Program?
The ID@Xbox Program is an initiative launched by Microsoft to enable qualified game developers to let-loose their creativity by self-publishing digital games on the Xbox ONE. The program gives studios the tools and support they need to maximize the success of their games. The process that takes place when developing through the ID@Xbox program is fairly straight forward, following a simple three step process of;
- Onboard – Submit the application and sign the NDA and developer application
- Build – Receive two free developer kits and gain access to the developer forums and documents
- Publish – Submit to certification with no fees and gain access to the go-to-market playbook

What Is Warframe?
Warframe is a third-person action game set in an evolving sci-fi world where players are challenged to fight across the solar system and master the power of the Warframe. A fast action PvE shooter, Warframe is often described as an MMO-Lite. Four players band together to form squads to battle against the oppression of the genocidal Grineer all the while working to advance their characters. Throughout missions, players will continually increase and customize the powers and abilities of their Warframe and their weapons.

The Warframe Story
Players take control of an ancient warrior known as the Tenno. Masters of the Warframe, warriors of blade and gun, the Warframe’s are called upon once more after they were left drifting among ruins of the old war. As the evil Grineer spread throughout the solar system with their vast armies, a call is sent out across the stars, calling upon the Tenno. Commanding the power of a Warframe, you must join the war in an attempt to stop the advancing Grineer.
Having a strong emphasis on cooperative play and clan-building, Warframe will be able to take full advantage of the social connectivity and community building features offered through the Xbox ONE. Players will be able to capture their favorite Warframe moments and share them with friends through the use of Game DVR.
