Batman: Arkham Knight new gameplay trailer

The game development team behind the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series of games, Rocksteady Studios, has been hard at work on their upcoming entry into the franchise, Batman: Arkham Knight.

According to some recent developments, Rocksteady has not finalized Batman: Arkham Knight‘s framerate or resolution at this time. However, the development team has now revealed that they are aiming for graphical parity across all platforms, that is to say PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

This particular bit of information was revealed during one of Rocksteady’s recent livestreams, where members of the development team were asked about details regarding the resolution and frame rate for PS4 version of Batman: Arkham Knight.

Read what Rocksteady had to say about Arkham Knight‘s graphical parity after the break.

Batman: Arkham Knight – Graphical Parity Across Platforms

A Rocksteady developer had the following to say regarding Batman: Arkham Knight‘s parity across platforms:

“We don’t know yet. We’re about six months away from going gold. So we don’t know what the resolution and the frame rate’s going to be yet. That’s something that happens during the optimization phase of the game. We’re aiming for parity across all platforms. Whatever it is, it’s going to be awesome.”

For those unfamiliar with Batman: Arkham Knight, it is the third game in Rocksteady Studios’ beloved Arkham series – following the2009’s Arkham Asylum and 2011’s critically acclaimed Arkham City. Warner Bros. Montreal developed last year’s Arkham Origins, albeit to a fairly lukewarm reception.

Batman: Arkham Knight was originally slated for a Fall 2014 release date, however, it was delayed to June 2015. The game will be available for the current-generation of consoles – Xbox One, PlayStation 4 – and PC.

What are your thoughts on Rocksteady’s statement regarding parity across platforms for Arkham Knight? Do you feel that parity should even be a thing, or that developers should utilize each respective console’s power to the fullest?
