Even though Square Enix have officially stated that a Final Fantasy VII HD Remake won’t be happening any time soon, industry insider and NeoGAF user known by name of Verendus stated that the game is currently in development.
Verendus is a highly credible source when it comes to the video gaming industry and a trustworthy member of the NeoGAF community. He responded to a post on the official boards of the gaming forum regarding speculation from another user on the forums DarkLordMalik.
The NeoGAF forum boards have proven to be a valuable source of information coming from industry insiders. Moreover, making seemingly ridiculous claims that are not backed up by fact can get you banned thus making the statement of Verendus seemingly believeable.
Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase have stated in recent interviews after the release of Final Fantasy 13 Lightning Returns that he “would love to do” a Final Fantasy VII HD Remake and added that “it would take a lot to happen” thus not excluding the possibility of it happening. Moreover fans suggested that the newly featured art in newest Final Fantasy title strongly resembles the one of FF7.
