There’s two ways at looking at cheating in GTA V – while the game is very long and highly detailed, most of the missions are pretty beatable after a couple of re-spawns. But there are a couple – North Yankton springs to mind – which can be pretty tough and frustrating to beat, so why not treat yourself to a little more firepower or temporary invincibility to get through the mission and on with the game? On the flip side, for those who have completed the game in full the cheats offer the chance to have some crazy freestyle fun, causing chaos across the greater Los Santos area.
Rather than worry about money – there’s a wealth of ways to rip off the stock exchange incidentally – we’re going to focus upon instant gratification here, without any need to use exploits or financial strategies that would put Warren Buffett to shame.
Firepower
As much as it can be fun popping into Ammunation for a chat with your friendly local gun dealer, he charges a heck of a lot of money for the high end gear such as rocket launchers and mini-guns. Plus you need to wait until quite far into the main story until these even become available to purchase. So if you can’t wait to get your hands on some high end ordinance:
Xbox 360 – Y, RT, Left, LB, A, Right, Y, Down, X, LB, LB, LB
Playstation 3 – Triangle, R2, Left, L1, X, Right, Triangle, Down, Square, L1, L1, L1
This can be repeated as many times as needed for extra ammunition, and provides enough firepower to easily brush aside SWAT teams and armored vehicles.
Invincibility
Who wants to live for ever? Well this cheat will not offer permanent eternal life, but will make your character impervious to damage from bullets, blasts and even skydiving without a parachute for five minutes (note the timer in the bottom right corner). This is ideal if going for a quick rampage or to blitz through a difficult mission like a T-1000.

Maximum Health and Armor
Ideal for those who don’t want to cheat too much but can’t be bothered to keep driving to Ammunation for another set of expensive body armor, this keeps the story flowing nice and quick without needing to do too much housekeeping (especially useful later in the game).

Lower Your Wanted Level
One of the most useful GTA 5 cheats especially when the cops are pushing four stars, the choppers and hot on your tail and you’re stuck in a crummy tow truck, this will make the cops suddenly give up the chase and head off for a donut and a cup of coffee.

Explosive Bullets
This is fun and very useful if you’re trying to storm a heavily defended location like the army base or an airport. This cheat literally makes all of your bullets have the same effect as a grenade, so when used with a highly automatic weapon it can be utterly awesome! Used with the mini-gun is simply something that needs to be experienced…
