The GTA 6 community is in one of its periodic frenzy cycles, and this time a few things happened in quick succession that got people convinced a third trailer is imminent.

First: PlayStation sent push notifications to users who wishlisted GTA VI but don’t own a PS5, nudging them to buy one ahead of the November 19 launch. Routine marketing — PlayStation does this with other titles too — but the timing set people off.

Then Game Informer sent a newsletter teasing its next cover with four redacted words. Longtime fans know Rockstar used Game Informer for exclusive reveals on GTA 4 and GTA 5, so the community immediately connected the dots. Whether that’s GTA 6 or something else entirely, nobody actually knows.

On top of that, Take-Two has its quarterly earnings call scheduled for May 21. Last year, Rockstar dropped Trailer 2 just days after a Take-Two earnings report — so fans are now circling that date too.

The reality is more measured. RockstarINTEL points out that these are unrelated events being stitched together into a narrative. Game Informer no longer has the reach it once did, and Rockstar didn’t even offer them a Red Dead Redemption 2 preview. A GTA 6 cover story there would be an unusual choice in 2026.

What is confirmed: Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said earlier this year that GTA 6’s marketing push begins this summer. A third trailer before the November launch is a certainty — the question is when, not if. The safer read is that Rockstar will move when it’s ready, not because a newsletter teased something with four blank spaces.

GTA 6 is currently set for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
