It’s no surprise that Microsoft showed something Halo off at E3 this year, but what they revealed was something more than a well put together CGI trailer of Halo 5. Instead they blew the roof off of the place and announced a Master Chief Collection for the Xbox One. This includes remastered editions of Halo: Combat Evolved, 2, 3, and 4! Yes, every Halo with a playable Master Chief in it will be included in one disc so you can experience every Halo in beautiful 1080p! And if you’re thinking it can’t get any better than this, well, you’re wrong! In fact, it gets a million times better because not only is there going to be multiplayer support it’s the Halo 2 multiplayer.
It runs on the same engine Halo 2 ran on but with better textures, lighting, etc. And if that didn’t get you excited then maybe this will… The multiplayer is going to have every map from each Halo game. Yup, there’s going to be over 100 maps and 4 campaigns on one disc for you to enjoy and the best part of this entire thing is, it’s only $60! The Master Chief Collection was definitely one of the biggest announcements of this years E3 and although it was leaked a bit early, I didn’t think it was real. When they announced it my jaw still dropped and I couldn’t help but to smile. This is definitely a smart move on Microsoft and 343 Industries’ part and I definitely cannot wait until November 11, 2014 when this game gets released.
In other news when revealing Halo: The Master Chief Collection 343 Industries also announced that if you purchase the collection you will get beta access to Halo 5: Guardians. The beta will begin on December 27, 2014 and will last until January 22, 2015. That’s almost an entire month you get to play the Halo 5: Guardians Beta!
