Since both the phones are a G3 variation of the same flagship they tend to have many similarities but since they have been released back to back in the same month in 2014, we can expect LG has toyed with their specs here a little. Can the latest Cat. 6 beat its youngest predecessor in terms of features?
LG G3 Cat. 6
This is an Android Kit Kat version smart phone which form an over view seems to have no have no cons. In fact the features are very alluring as well as its resolution is. This phone has been announced but its release date is yet unknown.
Design & Display
A broad 5.5 inch screen, highlighted with cut to cut edges is what makes this phone unique. However the design is pretty much similar to that of the other LG phones. An Oleophobic coating on its IPS LCD screen makes it smoother in operation. The light and proximity sensor s have been added as well.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
A high resolution 13 mega pixel camera enabled with all the high end features such as geo tagging and autofocus makes this phone a good deal for purchase. The front camera too has 2.1 mega pixels. A 2.7 GHz Quad core processor boosts this phone’s performance. The battery has 3000 mAh capacity. Apart from these the phone has fast 4G connection support. It is supported with Adreno 420 GPU and is technically LTE advanced, allowing speed up to 225 Mbps.
LG G3 S
This phone too has been announced in June 2014 and is yet to hit the markets. From what we gather, this phone has some exclusive features within a moderate to high price range. This can be a good value phone compared to Cat. 6.
Design & Display
It has a big 5 inch display even though it is visibly smaller than Cat. 6. Design wise there is pretty much no difference between the two phones as we can see. But this phone features a lower resolution compared to Cat. 6. The latter had an over 500 pixels per inch density. This phone has resolution lower than 300 pixels per inch.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
G3 has only 8 mega pixels camera with geo tagging and auto focus feature. This comes nowhere near Cat. 6’s high end camera features. Even the front camera is just 1.3 mega pixels in this phone while we got a 2.1 mega pixels capacity in the latter. It has a 1.2 GHz Quad core processor.
Overall
Cat. 6 is indeed a better phone amongst the two. This phone seems to be an upgrade of G3 S. All the features are enhanced. So clearly, we must go for this one if we want a good value deal.
