Released back in August, 2013 for the mid-price range on the mobile market, the Nokia Lumia 625 is a powerful addition to the Lumia family and is still one of the most popular smart devices in the series. However how can it compare with the Lumia 525 having in mind the smart devices price and when it comes to specifications?
Design
Keeping the tradition of the Lumia family, the Nokia Lumia 625 features a colorful palette of panels from which you can choose from. Easy to grip, the smart device is 5.25 x 2.85 x 0.36 inches in size. It may become a bit tiresome to the hand when extensively used due to its weight of about 159 grams, but the smartphone is nonetheless easy to get used.
Specifications
Having in mind its price and the date at which it was released, the Nokia Lumia 625 features pretty decent specifications. The smartphone harnesses the power of a Dual-Core 1.2GHz Krait processor, Adreno 305 GPU, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and as much as 1 GB of RAM. Even though it comes with Microsoft Windows Phone 8 pre-installed, the smart device is upgradable to the newest Windows Phone 8 Black mobile OS version and is thus able to run almost any business or lifestyle application on the official Windows Phone 8 Black mobile OS market, including some of the latest high-end games.
Display & Camera
Although the display of the Nokia Lumia 625 is with a 4.7 inch panel, the device is not able to deliver that great of a multimedia experience because of it slightly low pixel density of about 199 pixels that makes its resolution size only about 480 x 800 pixels. Even though this is enough for smart devices with smaller screen, the pixelation on the 4.7 inch display on the Lumia 625 is pretty visible and noticeable especially by users who are used to using smart devices with better screens.
The 5 MP camera featured on the device may not have that many features to back it up, but nonetheless is able to offer photos with decent enough quality for sharing through the various social networks. Moreover, the smart device is able to record videos at 1080p and 30 FPS and features a secondary VGA camera on the front that makes video conferencing possible.
Battery Life
The battery life of the Nokia Lumia 625 is quite decent as well as the smart device features a non-removable Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery. The smartphone is able to withstand about 90 hours of music playback, 15 hours of talktime and as much as 552 hours in standby mode.

Released a few months after the Lumia 625, the Nokia Lumia 525 comes at a cheaper price and seemingly downgraded specifications. However, is the device powerful enough to compare with its predecessor?
Design
The design of the Nokia Lumia 525 is not surprising. Much like any other smart device in the Lumia series, the smartphone is available with panels of various colors making it suitable to any lifestyle. Moreover, it is easy to grip and use with one hand due to its size of about 4.72 x 2.52 x 0.39 inches and its weight of only about 124 grams.
Specifications
Even though the specifications of the Nokia Lumia 525 have been downgraded compared with the Lumia 625, the device is nonetheless quite powerful. Featuring a Dual-Core 1GHz processor that is backed up by an Adreno 305 GPU, Qualcomm chipset and as much as 1 GB of RAM, the smartphone is running Windows Phone 8 Black and is able to run almost any lifestyle and business application on the official mobile OS app market, including some of the latest games.
Display & Camera
Even though the 4.0 inch display of the Nokia Lumia 525 is smaller compared to the Lumia 625, it nonetheless delivers a better multimedia experience. This is possible because its pixel density of about 233 ppi make its resolution size 480 x 800 pixels, which looks far better on the smaller 4.0 inch display than it does on the 4.7 inch one featured on the Lumia 625.
Much like the camera featured on the Lumia 625, the 5 MP camera seen on the Nokia Lumia 525 is decent enough to let you share pictures of decent enough quality through the various social networks. However, a bit of a setback is that the device is only able to record videos at 720p and 30FPS and does not feature a secondary camera, thus making video conferencing on the smartphone impossible.
Battery Life
Even though the life of the Nokia Lumia 525 is shorter than the one featured on the Lumia 625, because of its Li-Ion 1430 mAh battery it is nonetheless decent enough compared to smart devices in the same price range. The smartphone is able to withstand about 48 hours of music playback, up to 10 hours ot talktime and as much as 336 hours in standby mode.
Overall
Even though the camera, the specifications and the battery life of the Nokia Lumia 625 are slightly better compared to the Nokia Lumia 525, the smart device offers a poorer multimedia experience, because of its display. Moreover, having in mind the lower price of the Lumia 525, both devices are worth purchasing, yet the choice comes down to whether you’d prefer better specifications for a higher price or a slightly better multimedia experience.
