Minecraft Saves From Xbox 360 Will Transfer To Minecraft Xbox One

by GH Staff

It has officially been confirmed that save data from the Mojang’s block-building game Minecraft will transfer from the Xbox 360 to the Minecraft Xbox One version. This means thousands of painfully designed houses, worlds, and landscapes will be preserved. Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Philip Spencer, officially announced this aspect via a Twitter post:

This had previously been a concern for many Minecraft players, as the Xbox One does not have backwards compatibility with the Xbox 360. The good news comes after months of Microsoft being in talks with Mojang. The Playstation 4 version is also looking to transfer saved games from the Playstation 3, although no official announcement about whether that will happen has been made yet.

It’s interesting to see that Phil Spencer is taking such an interest in 4J Studios’ project. Anticipation for Minecraft Xbox One has been extremely high, and it seems Microsoft is well aware of the importance of the title on its new console. The Xbox One’s version of Minecraft is slated to come later this year. On the Xbox 360 alone, Minecraft has sold over a shocking 12 million copies. The Minecraft Xbox One version is said to be launched before the Minecraft PS4 version, and following the release of the highly popular Title Update 14, it seems 4J Studios and Mojang are pushing hard to get the game out on new-generation consoles as soon as possible.
