Motorola Moto X
In the war of smartphone supremacy, Motorola has one candidate that holds a prime position in its ranks; the Moto X. This is a high tech device with a really good set of features. Release date is August 2013 and the phone can be bought in nearly 20 color options.
Visual Details
The 4.7 inches wide screen is adorned with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels which creates a pixel density value at ~312 ppi, not bad for such a phone. The astoundingly huge option of colors for the back and two shades for the front mean that the phone can be personalized for almost any user with color preferences.
Technical Specifications
A little disappointment is felt that the processing unit in this phone is Dual-core and not Quad-core. The 1.7 GHz is still enough power for day to day usage though. Internal memory comes in 16/32/64 GB which is a wide and flexible variety of space considering there isn’t any support for external SD cards. Default Android version is 4.2.2 and can be updated to 4.4.4.
Multimedia
The 10 megapixels in this camera aren’t just like any ordinary camera. Advanced options like 1.4 µm pixel size and HDR option while recording 1080p video are some of the things that set it apart from normal phone cameras.
Accessories
No headphones. All you get is a charging brick, data cable and a SIM card removal tool.
Battery
The 2200 mAh unit featured in this phone should do nearly 2 days considering average usage.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport
Samsung in coordination with Sprint has created a variant of the latest Galaxy S5 and its called S5 Sport. The specs are just as top notch as the actual S5 but with some minor changes. Released in the June of 2014, this phone can be bought in Cherry Red and Electric Blue color.
Visual Details
The 5.1 inch S-AMOLED screen is as beautiful as ever with its 1080×1920 pixels resolution resulting in ~432 ppi pixel density. There is no fingerprint sensor in this model unlike the normal S5 though. Also the hard buttons on its bottom are also a novelty as compared to the typical single button design. The phone itself is still a joy to use.
Technical Specifications
The processor is a 2.5 GHz Quad-core model with 2GB RAM that gives smooth performance. There is only 16GB internal storage in this variant. However the 128GB external card support doesn’t let that be a big problem. The software installed is Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Multimedia
A 16 megapixel camera with a multitude of options like HDR, touch-focus and optical image stabilization result in the delivery of amazing photo and video quality.
Accessories
Charger, headphones and data cable are the standard Galaxy S5 Sport accessories package.

The 2800 mAh giant is capable of giving more than 3 days of battery life on one charge.
Verdict
Although the Moto X is a phone with a lot of great features, it just can’t defeat the S5 Sport’s legendary prowess.
